HEDGEHOG

The European hedgehog is often heard rather than seen as its presence at night is frequently betrayed by a large repertoire of grunts, squeaks and screams. The recent decline in hedgehogs can be attributed to the use of slug pellets and poisons in the garden. Many too are run over as a result of increasing road traffic.
